A customer contacted us because, after replacing the front radar of the ACC (adaptive cruise control) system, the function no longer switched on: no mechanical fault, but the system simply stayed disabled.
The diagnosis
The new radar was communicating with the car, but was not yet recognised by the system: without the correct replacement procedure, the module stays disconnected from the other driving-assistance systems that rely on its data.
The reprogramming process
We carried out, in order: reading the stored fault codes, reprogramming the radar module, recoding it on the vehicle, and calibrating the sensor alignment, essential for the radar to measure distances correctly.
The final test
After calibration we checked the ACC on the road, confirming that the system recognised vehicles ahead and kept the set distance without false alarms.
