xDrive transfer case
Diagnosis, maintenance and repair of the transfer case and the all-wheel-drive systems of BMW and MINI.
In all-wheel-drive systems the transfer case distributes drive between the axles. When there is a problem, the car may show jerks, vibrations, noises or warnings on the instrument cluster.
What it includes
- Reading of 4x4, DSC and traction errors
- Check of tyres and differences in rolling circumference, which can mimic a fault
- Check of the actuator, oil and transmission components
- Adaptations and calibrations, where required
- Repair or replacement of the transfer case, only after the cause is confirmed

If you feel jerks when manoeuvring, vibrations, noises when accelerating or turning, if 4x4 or DSC warning lights appear, or if traction behaves irregularly. Before blaming the transfer case, everything else must be checked.
